Japanese Pop Culture and why you should love it

I am a huge fan of japanese pop culture and particulary in love with everything the intellectual will frown upon by reflex alone: japanese horror movies, mangas and Hello! Project :-). So what has that to do with japanese learning? A lot.

I like to learn new vocabulary by learning it with RudisKanjiTrain and then using it on the media in question. Right now I have only a few levels/lessons for RudisKanjiTrain, but I plan to make more in the future. I found them invaluably for learning words. Learning the vocabulary for a song, so that you know every word in it and than listening to it until your housemates get so sick of it that they break out the pitchforks is really effective in retaining those vocabulary. Combine that with Music Videos which are subtitled in kanji and you are in japanese learners heaven. Unless you don't like 美勇伝 and it's like or dont' think Death Note is great literature. Well your loss :-).

As they are small enough, they are all in one rar-file: Download

I had to use the RAR-Archiver because some filenames contain kanji and the zip from european Windows can't process those.

Please note that I took most of the translations from the dictionary included with JWPce which is edict if I remember correctly. I think I am allowed to do that as the program is free and I said that I did so here. By the way: to the people behind edict, JWPce and KanjiDict: You rule :-) !
