All the week before it rained and the forecast for next week was only rain too, yet on the day of our trip the weather was fine. As we didn't have to navigate steep mountain slopes before reaching our destination, even me and my Fiesta could manage it. Twenty minutes before reaching our destination, we made a short break in Bayrischzell. A painted building in Bayrischzell. The first hills of the prealps around Bayrischzell. Here we arrived at the bottom of the driveway up to Mariandl-Alm. Even hiking up by foot one has first to follow the driveway a little before the footway starts. As it had rained the days before, we didn't know if the footway wouldn't be too slippery. I felt the continuing urge to take pictures of small alpine flowers. Please notice the flowers around the tree's base. We took the shortest trip to the Trockenbachalm. Those flowers had a really bright color. Simple yet complicated blossoms. Another type of flowers. Here the way stayed level for a few hundred meters, after here the way turns left. This apple tree stood lonely on that alm. The season really brought out a lot of flowers. The first view of our goal. Thankfully the hike turned out to be really tame, so I felt still genki. I wonder where the wavy texture of the Alm comes from. Slowly but steadily dark clouds gathered and a few meters from the restaurant it started to rain. H only ate two Wieners. The Kaiserschmarrn to the left belongs to S. In the back is a Käsepressknödel soon belonging to S's mother. My very own pan of Kaiserschmarrn with rum and Preiselbeer-sauce.
